Wakanda Forever: Big salary increase for Winston Duke (M’Baku)

The expected sequel to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever should normally arrive on our screens for the month of November 2022 but could be postponed to 2023 depending on several bad combinations of circumstances. First the death of Chadwick Boseman, the iconic interpreter of Black Panther, died of colon cancer in August 2020. After having procrastinated for a long time as to the direction that should be given to this new film, marvel studios ultimately decided not to replace or bring back Boseman but to organize the film around the secondary characters of the Wakanda, while giving a much larger place to the character of Shuri (Letitia Wright) while Namor could well be introduced in the film.

The film has long been put on stand-by, the fault of a situation of uncertainty enveloping the actress Letitia Wright. Injured on set during a stunt session in Boston (shoulder fracture), filming was halted. Numerous rumors suggesting that she had made anti-vax comments also delayed her return to work. But the shots were able to resume a few days ago when the 28-year-old actress returned.

According to HollywoodReporter, Winston Duke, the interpreter of M’Baku, will also have a much greater importance in this new film. The report indicates that Winston Duke negotiated a very big salary increase accompanied by a rewrite of his character after the death of Chadwick Boseman. Many fans think that it will be him who will take over the mantle of Black Panther. In the meantime, the various delays attributed to the film should not have reason for the release date, which remains maintained this November 11, 2022.
