Ukraine announces new advances of up to 1.7 kilometers
For its part, the Ukrainian army reported advances of up to 1.7 kilometers by kyiv troops in different areas around Bakhmut in the last 24 hours.
“In the east, our units continue to advance on the flanks despite having no superiority in numbers of personnel, ammunition or equipment,” spokesman for the Eastern Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Serhii Cherevatii told the national television news service.
The military spokesman added that in the last 24 hours the Ukrainian forces have managed to advance in different areas around Bakhmut, distances ranging from 150 to 1,700 meters.
Cherevatii explained that “the enemy is trying at all costs to take the city that it has already completely destroyed”, referring to the advances in recent days within Bakhmut itself by Russian troops, which have been recognized by Kiev.
