Vodafone raises prices in Portugal and leaves a message to customers

The inflation rate of 7.8% will be noticed at the beginning of 2023 on the bills of the clients of the telecom operators, as we have already explained in detail.

For MEO and NOS customers, the increases will take effect this February. In the case of Vodafone, increases can be expected to take effect from March 1. On its official website, Vodafone left a message for customers.

Vodafone’s message to its customers

“Vodafone Portugal will update the price of the telecommunications services provided to its customers as of March 1, 2023, with a maximum increase of 7.8% in the global amount of the invoice, depending on the services subscribed and in accordance with the terms and conditions provided in the respective contract ”, can be read.

The operator also reports that “The update was calculated with reference to the inflation rate, based on the Consumer Price Index for the year 2022 and published each year by the National Institute of Statistics.”

The justification has to do with “the current macroeconomic and geopolitical context, which has resulted in significant increases in the prices of energy and raw materials. This fact, associated with the increase in the inflation rate, translates into significant increases in the costs of operation and maintenance and management of the support network for the provision of our services”.
