Vodafone Portugal presents the results of the third quarter

Vodafone Portugal has already presented the results for the third quarter of the 2021-2022 financial year. From October to December, the operator reached 270 million revenues from services.

These figures represent a growth of 9.3% compared to the same period in 2020, which is the main indicator of its business. As for Total Revenue, these increased by 7.7% compared to the same period in 2020. They total 298 million euros.

Vodafone Portugal already has 864 thousand fixed broadband service customers

In a statement, the operator reveals that, during the third quarter, “the number of fixed customers continued to grow.” Of these, 864 thousand are in the fixed broadband service, an increase of 8.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The operator also states that it “also continued to expand its presence throughout the country.” In this sense, the latest generation FTTH network reached something with 4.1 million homes and businesses, an increase of 11.5%.

These results were driven not only by the “sustained growth” of the fixed business, but also by the stability of the mobile business. Revenues from roaming, visitors and prepaid increased along with the recovery in the Tourism area.

Vodafone’s mobile service reaches 4.7 million customers

Vodafone will thus have reached a total base of 4.7 million mobile service customers. These numbers represent a growth of 3.3% compared to the third quarter of 2020.

“The third quarter had a very important milestone, which was the end of the 5G auction. Finally, Portugal managed to count on this important new mobile generation, which Vodafone Portugal launched commercially on November 30, 2021”, says Mário Vaz, CEO of Vodafone Portugal.

The executive also states that the company is excited “with this new phase, which will undoubtedly allow us to continue innovating, improve connectivity and contribute to a better future for the country.”

The commercial launch of 5G is touted as the highlight of this quarter.
