Vodafone is the world leader in this market for the eighth consecutive year

Vodafone is once again far ahead in the Internet of Things market. For the eighth consecutive year, it was recognized as a Leader in the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for IoT Connectivity Service Management.

This evaluation covered a total of 18 providers. For the distinction, Gartner “considered not only Vodafone’s fullness of vision but also its ability to execute,” the operator reveals in a statement.

This leadership position will have had a strong contribution of scale, which allows taking advantage of multinational opportunities. But also the investment made in the constant delivery of “value, a clear vision of the direction of the market and the ability to engage Clients”.

Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone Business IoT, says that “IoT has become a critical operational asset for businesses around the world, as critical as electricity.” As digitalization accelerates, the operator must offer customers “the global reach, quality of service and operational support they need to maximize their efficiency, optimize their operations and minimize their impact on the environment.”

Vodafone Business reaches 136 million connections

Vodafone Business has expanded its IoT business by more than 20% in the last year, reaching 136 million connections. It claims to have driven innovation in this area by laying the groundwork for 5G for IoT and creating business models.

The work of the Internet of Things Competence Center, installed together with Vodafone Portugal, has also contributed to these recognitions. This is responsible for the launch of several IoT solutions that are currently applied in companies and cities in Portugal and the world.

Among them, Vodafone Machine Data (industry 4.0) or Vodafone Digital Screen (digital showcase for companies) stand out.
