Vizela’s coach Ricardo Sousa has declared his team as favorites for their upcoming match against Penafiel, despite a three-game winless streak and recent draws.
Sousa stated that his team, currently in a challenging period, must demonstrate their superiority from the opening whistle. He acknowledged the team is not performing at its best but emphasized their ability to react positively to adversity.
The coach underlined that victory has eluded them due to their own shortcomings. He said the team is highly self-critical and accepts responsibility for the two recent draws.
He highlighted the importance of continuing to accumulate points in the Second League, noting that many teams with similar aspirations have failed to do so in recent weeks. Vizela, he said, has managed to secure points through its draws.
Sousa expressed regret over not having his full squad available for selection.
Despite the challenges, he praised the team’s unity and spirit, describing the group as focused and determined to return to winning ways.
Vizela is scheduled to face Penafiel on Sunday at 11:00 AM local time.
