Vizela’s coach, Ricardo Sousa, has issued a direct call for his team to urgently reverse a significant slump in form as they prepare to face a strong Benfica B side this Saturday.
The team has secured only two points in its last four league matches, eroding a crucial advantage over direct rivals in the promotion race.
Sousa described the current situation as the “worst phase of the season” for the club. He emphasized the necessity for unity, competitiveness, and intensity from his players.
“We are coming from a bad result, and after a bad result, what we have to do is react,” Sousa stated. “Everyone knows what they have to do to return to good results.”
Vizela aims to regain winning form and reclaim lost positions in the league table.
The coach acknowledged the quality of their upcoming opponent, Benfica B, noting their strong recent performance. Benfica B had secured two consecutive victories and held a 3-0 lead in a challenging match in Faro.
Sousa expressed optimism about the increasing availability of his squad, with more players returning to full fitness.
“We increasingly have the group at 100 percent,” he said, adding that the improved depth would create greater competition for places and ultimately help improve results.
The match against Benfica B is scheduled for Saturday at 6:00 p.m. UTC.
