Chinese smartphone manufacturer vivo is set to introduce its Y500 Pro, a new mid-range device that incorporates a range of high-end features typically found in premium models, including an expansive display, robust durability, and a massive battery.
The device boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, marking it as the first in vivo’s Y-series to feature this panel type. It offers a 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260 pixels) and a 120 Hz refresh rate for fluid visuals. The screen also includes anti-glare glass.
Its durability is rated at IP68+ and IP69, a standard usually reserved for flagship phones. This certification ensures complete dust protection and resistance to immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, as well as high-pressure hot water up to 80 degrees Celsius.
A significant feature is its substantial 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, supported by 90W fast charging. This capacity is designed to provide extended usage, particularly for demanding tasks like gaming.
For photography, the Y500 Pro includes a 200-megapixel main camera utilizing a Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor. It is paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera integrated into a punch-hole design.
The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 mid-range chip, an octa-core processor built on a 4nm process. It features four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0 GHz.
The Y500 Pro will be available with 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB. It runs on OriginOS 6, which is based on Android 16.
Vivo confirmed these specifications through a post on Weibo, a major Chinese social media platform. Details also appeared in the database of China Telecom, a prominent telecommunications provider.
The device, with model number V2516A, measures 160.23 x 74.51 x 7.81 mm and weighs 198 grams.
The official launch for the vivo Y500 Pro is scheduled for November 10, 2025, in China. It will be offered in Light Green, Titanium Black, Soft Pink, and Auspicious Cloud Gold color variants. Pricing information is expected to be released closer to the launch date.
