Vivo X Fold 5 Leaked Specs: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 6000mAh Battery, Global Launch Soon

The Chinese smartphone brand vivo is gearing up to release its next-generation foldable device, the X Fold 5, in 2025. According to leaked information from a reliable source, Yogesh Brar, the global version of the X Fold 5 is expected to feature impressive specs and capabilities.

The device is likely to sport a sleek design, measuring just 4.3mm thick when open and 9.33mm when folded, making it one of the thinnest foldable smartphones available. For comparison, the current thinnest foldable is the OPPO Find N5, which is 4.2mm thick when open and 8.9mm when folded.

Display and Performance

The X Fold 5 is expected to feature a 6.53-inch LTPO display on the outside, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The internal display will be an 8.03-inch 2K AMOLED screen, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, built on a 4nm process and clocked at up to 3.3GHz. This will be paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Camera Capabilities

The X Fold 5 is rumored to have a triple-camera setup on the rear, comprising:

  • A 50MP primary sensor (Sony IMX921)
  • A 50MP ultrawide lens
  • A 50MP periscope zoom lens (Sony IMX882) with 3x optical zoom

There will also be two 32MP selfie cameras, one on the cover screen and another on the internal display.

Battery Life and Charging

One of the standout features of the X Fold 5 is its massive 6,000mAh battery, which is the largest capacity ever used in a foldable smartphone. The device will support 90W fast charging and 30W wireless charging.

Other expected features include:

  • A side-mounted fingerprint sensor
  • An Alert Slider button
  • Advanced AI capabilities
  • IPX4 water resistance

The X Fold 5 is expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2025, with a price tag potentially around $1,500.
