Vivo V50e smartphone features 50MP front and rear 4K video recording

Vivo is teaming up with Amazon to release a new mid-range smartphone, the V50e, with a strong focus on photography. The design and key features of this device have been officially revealed on Vivo’s website and Amazon.

The V50e has a similar look to the recently released S20, with a curved screen on all four sides, just like the S20 Pro.

One of the standout features of the V50e is its ultrawide front camera, boasting a 50-megapixel resolution. It supports 0.8x and 1.0x zoom, 4K video recording, and comes with a Wedding Portrait Studio feature, allowing users to have fun with wedding-style filters and frames, similar to the V50.

The primary rear camera has a 50-megapixel sensor, utilizing the Sony IMX882, supporting 1x, 1.5x, and 2x portrait modes, as well as 4K video recording. It’s complemented by an ultrawide camera with a 116-degree angle and a unique ring-shaped flash called Aura Light.

Vivo has posted sample images taken with the V50e, showcasing its capabilities with Prosecco, Neo Retro, and Pastel color filters.

The device is also durable, with an IP68/69 rating, protecting it against water and high pressure at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius, an upgrade from the V50’s IP64 rating, which only provides protection against water splashes and dust. The V50e has been tested to withstand over 42,000 drops, earning it an SGS Five-Star durability certification.

More details on the V50e’s hardware specs are expected to be announced soon.
