Vivo S50 Pro Mini Unveiled: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, iPhone Air-Like Design, Global X300 FE

Chinese manufacturer vivo is preparing a powerful new flagship smartphone for a late 2025 global debut, featuring Qualcomm’s unreleased Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and a high-end camera setup.

The S50 Pro Mini, which is expected to be rebranded as the X300 FE for international markets, is slated for a December 2025 launch in China.

This new device will integrate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The chip is reportedly manufactured using a 3-nanometer process.

It features an 8-core Oryon 3rd generation CPU architecture. This includes two Prime cores clocking up to 3.80 GHz for demanding tasks like gaming, and six Performance cores at up to 3.32 GHz for general high-efficiency use.

The S50 Pro Mini will feature a distinctive design. It has been described as similar to an “iPhone Air” model, showcasing a prominent triple-camera module spanning the top edge of the device.

Its confirmed camera system includes a large main sensor, an ultrawide lens, and a periscope zoom camera. The periscope lens utilizes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor.

Further reported specifications for the S50 Pro Mini include a 6.31-inch 1.5K OLED flat display. This screen will have curved edges and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

It will also feature an under-display fingerprint sensor. A 50-megapixel front-facing camera is expected for selfies.

Other anticipated components are LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It will pack a substantial 6,500 mAh battery supporting 90W fast charging and 40W wireless charging.

The phone is expected to run on OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. It will include an X-axis vibration motor for haptic feedback.

Constructed with aerospace-grade metal, the S50 Pro Mini is designed for high durability. It carries an IP68/69 rating, providing resistance to water immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and high-pressure hot water up to 80 degrees Celsius.

vivo also plans to unveil a standard S50 model alongside the Pro Mini. This variant will feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, up to 16 GB of RAM, and a 6.59-inch 1.5K 120 Hz OLED screen. However, its design will differ significantly from the S50 Pro Mini.
