Vivo launches the first folding smartphone with this processor and its first case

Vivo has just officially presented two new folding smartphones. The X Fold 2 is the first device of its kind to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

On the same occasion, the Chinese brand also introduced its first smartphone with a flip cover, the X Flip.

Today, at an event in China, Vivo officially unveiled its two new foldable smartphones, the X Flip and X Fold 2. The latter is the iteration of a model launched last year by the brand and is the first foldable to be equipped with the Snapdragon processor. 8 Gen 2 coming to market.

The X Fold 2 features a 6.56-inch secondary display that provides a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels and an 8.03-inch primary display with a resolution of 2160×1916 pixels. Both panels are AMOLED and have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR10 + support and a maximum brightness of 1,800 nits.

The foldable comes with a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle, and even a telephoto sensor also with 12-megapixel resolution. The model also has the V2 chip to improve the resources dedicated to the image.

Qualcomm’s next-generation processor is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage capacity. For the rest, it is powered by a 4,800 mAh battery with support for fast charging at 120 watts.

The model is now available for reservation in the Chinese market, with prices starting at 1,195 euros for its most basic variant.

At today’s conference, Vivo also introduced its first foldable smartphone, in the form of a shell. The X Flip arrives with a back panel with a kind of diamond-shaped texture that gives it a very elegant style.

Inside it houses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, along with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage capacity. Still under the chassis, it also houses a 4,400 mAh battery with 44-watt fast charging.

The main AMOLED display is 6.74 inches, with a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. The secondary panel is three inches in size with a resolution of 682×422 pixels.

At the rear, the X Flip features a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle resolution.

With the sale scheduled for April 28, Vivo X Flip is available for pre-reservation at a price starting at 795 euros. Vivo did not provide information about the possibility of launching this equipment worldwide.
