Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s movie Brahmastra is dominating the box office. This movie has joined the Rs 200 crore club in the second week. Before the release, Boycott Brahmastra had been trending on social media, but this trend has not affected the film’s earnings. Brahmastra has reportedly broken the record of Anupam Kher’s film The Kashmir Files and has become the highest grossing film of the year. Vivek Agnihotri’s anger flared over the news that The Kashmir Files broke the Brahmastra record. He has shared the post on social media.
The Kashmir Files reportedly did a 340 crore business worldwide. At the same time, Brahmastra has surpassed this figure and has reached about 350 crores worldwide. After which Brahmastra has become the highest grossing film of the year 2022.
Director Vivek Agnihotri was angry after seeing Brahmastra’s post breaking The Kashmir Files record on social media. He tweeted – Hahaha. I don’t know how they beat The Kashmir Files… Stick, Rod, Hockey or AK47 or Patthar… With paid PR and influencers? Let Bollywood movies compete with each other. Leave us alone, I’m not part of this stupid race. Thanks.
The boycott trend has been going on for some time on social media. Vivek Agnihotri had recently spoken about this. He had said in a conversation with a news portal: This is a complex issue and the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ campaign is ‘very good’ because it shows people’s frustration about what Bollywood is considering.
Vivek Agnihotri further said: I am not part of Bollywood which uses tried and tested formulas, rather he is out and makes Hindi movies.
