The Kashmir Files director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is all set to make a comeback on the big screen with another inspiring story. Currently, Vivek is gearing up for the release of his most awaited film The Vaccine War. Amid all this, his previous film The Kashmir Files is still in the headlines.
Based on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, this film created a buzz at the box office but also faced a lot of criticism. Recently, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah spoke about The Kashmir Files and said that it was dangerous for the audience. Vivek has now reacted to this comment of Shah.
Recently, Naseeruddin said about films like “The Kashmir Files”, “Gadar 2” and “The Kerala Story” that they are harmful to people because they show too much chauvinism. When Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri spoke to BollywoodLife about it, he said, “I don’t know.” I think it’s up to them to decide which film is a good film and which is a bad film. I am sure he likes films that are always critical of India. Some people are disappointed in life. He always believes in negative news, negative things, so I don’t know what Naseer bhai likes.
I was a fan of his acting and had also cast him in The Tashkent Files. But lately he’s been saying things like that, maybe he’s gotten very old or maybe he’s very disappointed in life.”
The filmmaker also expressed regret over people’s inability to accept the facts. He said, “I don’t know what problem they have with the Kashmir files. If he says that there was no genocide against Kashmiri Hindus in Kashmir, then I will understand that, otherwise I don’t know why he wants to cover up the genocide. He is an intelligent man, he doesn’t seem to be a genocide denier. When he denies genocide, I am at a loss for words.
Let us tell you that The Kashmir Files recently won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration at the 69th National Film Awards. Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is now waiting for his new film ‘The Vaccine War’, which is scheduled to release on September 28th. The film is based on India’s fight against Covid-19 and the way the medical department is working to develop a vaccine against this deadly virus. Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Saptami Gowda and many other actors have played important roles in the film.
