Vivek Agnihotri comments on Deepika Padukone’s JNU visit controversy

Director Vivek Agnihotri is currently making headlines with his upcoming film, The Bengal Files. In a recent interview, Agnihotri opened up about his film, Bollywood, and politics. He also spoke about Deepika Padukone’s visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in 2020.

Agnihotri claimed that Deepika wouldn’t have visited JNU if she had known about the university’s politics. He said, “I can guarantee that when Deepika went there, she had no idea about JNU’s politics. Her PR must have told her that it would benefit her film.” Agnihotri believes that if Deepika had known about the political sensitivity of the issue, she wouldn’t have gone to JNU.

Agnihotri also called Deepika a sensible actress, but criticized her PR team for giving her wrong advice. He said, “I don’t know Deepika personally, but I think she’s a very intelligent woman. However, during film promotions, stars are often told what to do by their teams. I think Deepika’s PR was wrong at that time.”

As a director, Agnihotri is known for making films that tackle political issues. His previous films, The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, also dealt with sensitive topics. Now, he’s all set to release The Bengal Files, which is likely to spark more conversations about politics and Bollywood.

Agnihotri’s comments about Deepika Padukone have reignited the debate about celebrities and their involvement in politics. While some people appreciate Agnihotri’s honesty, others feel that he’s targeting Deepika unfairly. The controversy surrounding Deepika’s JNU visit refuses to die down, and Agnihotri’s statements have added fuel to the fire.

The Bengal Files is expected to release soon, and it will be interesting to see how the film performs at the box office. With Agnihotri’s track record of making films that spark important conversations, The Bengal Files is likely to generate a lot of buzz in the coming days.
