Vitor Roque Scores First Goal as Palmeiras Takes Solo Lead in Brasileirão

Palmeiras have taken the top spot in the Brasileirão after beating Vasco da Gama 1-0.
The match was held at the Mané Garrincha stadium.
Vítor Roque came off the bench to score his first goal for Palmeiras, securing the win for Abel Ferreira’s team.

The first half was evenly matched, with Palmeiras dominating possession and Vasco da Gama threatening on the counter.
The best chance of the half fell to Vasco, when Weverton’s poor clearance almost led to a João Victor goal.
However, Giay made a crucial block on the goal line to deny them.

Game-Changing Moment

Things changed after Abel Ferreira introduced Allan and Paulinho at the 60-minute mark.
The breakthrough came when Hugo Moura’s pass was intercepted, and Estêvão picked up the loose ball.
He then set up Vítor Roque, who scored his first Palmeiras goal.

Despite having chances to extend their lead, Palmeiras were wasteful in front of goal.
Still, they held on for the win.
The three points put them top of the Brasileirão, at least until Flamengo plays Cruzeiro.

Vasco, meanwhile, remain 13th.
Nuno Moreira played 67 minutes for the visitors.
