Vítor Pereira feels like he’s done his job. He took over Wolverhampton when they were struggling, and he turned things around. They were last in the league at one point, but he led them to a 16th-place finish. That’s the same number of points as Manchester United and ahead of Tottenham.
He made the team connect with the fans, even going to a pub to have a beer with them. This personal touch helped the team come together. Pereira said he’s proud of what he did. He took a tough situation and made it work. “I feel like I did my job, and I’m proud of the work I did,” he said.
Looking to the Future
Pereira talked about the Portuguese market. His team already has some Portuguese players like José Sá and Gonçalo Guedes. He didn’t rule out signing more Portuguese players, saying they have a lot of quality. However, he joked that they can be expensive.
He also talked about going back to Portugal. For now, he’s happy where he is. “I’m there and I’m good,” he said with a laugh. He wants to stay for a long time and do even better.
A Special Club
Pereira has a special place in his heart for Wolverhampton. They gave him his chance in the English league, which was a big goal for him. He wants to keep helping them grow and improve. For next season, he hopes to do better than 16th place. “I hope to do better, sincerely,” he said. But for now, he’s waiting to see what happens with player transfers before setting expectations.
As for Nelson Semedo, who’s been linked to Benfica, Pereira didn’t say much. But he knows that the transfer market will be important for his team’s future.
