Vitor Pereira Eyes Historic Win Against Amorim’s Manchester United in Premier League Showdown

Vítor Pereira’s Wolverhampton is on a roll, and they’re set to test their mettle against Manchester United on Sunday at 2 PM. The Wolves have a 14-point cushion over the relegation zone, but Pereira isn’t getting ahead of himself. “We know we still have a lot of work to do because it’s not done yet,” he said. “We’ve got many points to fight for, and our goal is to do our best.”

Pereira recently watched Manchester United’s thrilling 5-4 win over Lyon in the Europa League at Old Trafford. The match featured two Portuguese managers, Ruben Amorim and Paulo Fonseca, and Pereira was impressed. “It was great to see two Portuguese coaches on the pitch, with top players and an electric atmosphere,” he said. “You never know who’s going to win until the end. That’s football – you can be the better team and still lose.”

The Wolves beat United 2-0 in the first round on December 26, and Pereira praised Amorim’s tactics. “He’s a talented coach, and he’s facing bigger challenges that are helping him improve and take it to the next level,” Pereira said. Still, he kept the focus on his own team. “It was a great win that boosted our confidence, but we’re not thinking about United – we’re focused on our own game.”

Wolves’ Confidence Grows

Pereira believes his players are absorbing his personality and ambition. “They’re more confident with the ball and more mature,” he said. The team is pushing for a fifth straight Premier League win. If they beat United, Pereira will move ahead of Amorim in the standings. Pereira is already looking to improve, driven by his desire for better football. “I’m not happy because I think we can get better every day,” he said.
