If reports are to be believed, Kohli will take a break from white-ball cricket and will only be present in Test cricket.

According to Indian Express report, Virat Kohli has warned BCCI that he will take a break from white-ball cricket. In this way, he is only available for selection in Test cricket. The Indian team’s next mission will be the tour of South Africa where Team India will play series of all three formats. The tour begins on December 10 with a three-match T20 series. A three-match ODI series will then be played from December 17 and Team India will play a two-match Test series from December 26.

Speaking to The Indian Express, a source said, “Kohli has told the BCCI and selectors that he needs a break from white-ball cricket and will come back when he has to play white-ball cricket.” Currently, he has BCCI announced that he will be playing red ball cricket, meaning he will be present for the Test series against South Africa.

In the 2023 ODI World Cup hosted by India, Virat Kohli broke many records and scored the most runs in the tournament. Kohli had scored 765 runs in 11 innings of 11 matches at an average of 95.62. During this period he scored three centuries and six half-centuries. With 765 runs, Kohli had set the record for scoring the most runs in a single edition.
