Sikandar, who led his team to two centuries in the recent one-day series against Bangladesh, further said of Kohli: “Cricket has always attached importance to fitness, but the way Virat Kohli carried fitness forward in this game, was seen by young people. The generation goes on. This is a great achievement, people should give him credit for it.”

Asked what advice he would like to give to Kohli, who is going through a rough patch, he said: “I don’t have enough experience to give any advice to someone who has scored between 16,000 and 20,000 runs. What am I going to tell them? I will say nothing. People should remain silent and let Virat be in peace. Leave them alone, they will climb back to the top.”
