Royal Challengers Bangalore is on a roll, having just topped the points table after beating Delhi Capitals at their home ground. The win was largely thanks to Virat Kohli’s steady hand – he scored 51 off 47 balls, including four fours, to help chase down a target of 163. Kohli’s knock was particularly crucial as RCB had lost three wickets for just 26 runs, putting them on the back foot. He combined with Krunal Pandya to put on 119 runs, steering the team towards victory.
Kohli’s form has been impressive of late. It’s the first time since IPL 2016 that he’s scored three consecutive fifties. With 443 runs from 10 matches, he’s currently second in the Orange Cap race, trailing only Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudarshan. Kohli’s ability to perform under pressure has undoubtedly been a significant factor in RCB’s success.
After the match, Kohli met his childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, on the ground. A video shared by RCB on social media showed Kohli touching his coach’s feet as a mark of respect, followed by a lighthearted exchange between the two. This isn’t the first time Kohli has shown deference to his coach; their interactions have always been characterized by a deep sense of mutual respect.
