Indian cricket team legend Virat Kohli, in a podcast from the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise of the Indian Premier League, shared his experiences when he was drafted into the auction for the first time. Kohli said on this podcast that his selection by RCB was an impressive moment in his life, one that he was completely unaware of at the time.
Virat Kohli has been at RCB since 2008 and was named franchise captain in 2013, replacing Daniel Vettori. At the same time, at the 2021 IPL, Kohli announced that he no longer wants to be the team captain. However, he has been retained by the franchise for the 15th season of the IPL.

On the podcast, Kohli said: “I was in Malaysia for the U19 World Cup when my name came up in the IPL draft. The dynamic of the U19s during that time was completely different as after coming to the IPL , there was a big gap in terms of salary. At that time, only one thing was happening: if a player who has not played for India can be selected for how much. There were even many players like me, when they found out about his amount, they they were quite surprised.
He said, “Besides RCB, the Delhi team also wanted to buy me during that time, but then they took away Pradeep Sangwan. Because the Delhi team needed a quick left-arm bowling and they added Sangwan to my place. A Sangwan He did well in the U19 World Cup.Delhi bought Sangwan to strengthen his bowling alley and I went to the RCB team.It was an amazing moment in my life that I didn’t realize then, but now every time I look back , things have turned out differently.
