‘Virat Kohli plays all three formats, but Smith and Root…’ Dinesh Karthik’s reaction at Fab-4

In the second test to be played between India and the West Indies, Virat Kohli scored his 76th international century. Meanwhile, the debate on Fab-4 continues. Now, Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik has given his reaction on the Fab-4 debate. Virat Kohli’s average in Test cricket has dropped to 50. In such a situation, there is debate whether he is still a part of Fab-4 or not.

Kohli is playing his 500th career cap through the second Test against the West Indies. Kohli became the first player to score a century in his 500th cap. Meanwhile, while speaking on ‘Cricbuzz’ about the ongoing Fab-4 debate, Dinesh Karthik said that Kohli plays all three formats. The Fab-4 includes New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, Australia’s Steve Smith and England’s Joe Root along with Virat Kohli.

Dinesh Karthik said: “Virat Kohli plays in all three formats and it will take a toll on his body. Whereas Joe Root and Steve Smith mostly play only two formats, Test and ODI. Both Australia and England sometimes play more Test cricket than India, giving them the best chance of scoring many hundreds. But looking at this player and the kind of discipline he is showing in different countries, he can easily become the batsman with the most Test hundreds in the world.”

Kohli had scored a century in 2018 on foreign soil before scoring a century in the second Test against the West Indies. Now against the West Indies, he played a 121-run innings in Trinidad. Kohli scored a century away for India after 1677 days and 31 innings. This was the 29th century of Kohli’s Test career.
