Virat Kohli scored second consecutive IPL century

Virat Kohli, continuing his incredible form at IPL 2023, has reached his second century in a row. After scoring a 64-ball century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last match, he scored a 60-ball century in the crucial match against Gujarat Titans. In IPL history where he now he has surpassed Chris Gayle to become the top scorer of the century. At the same time, he became the third player in IPL history to score consecutive centuries in two matches.

Before Virat Kohli, there were two players in IPL history who scored two consecutive centuries in two matches. Shikhar Dhawan did this in the year 2020 for Delhi Capitals. While in 2022, Jose Butler did this feat for Rajasthan Royals. Now Virat has become the third such player. This was Virat Kohla’s 7th century in IPL and he has left behind Chris Gayle who scored 6 centuries. Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten 101 off 61 balls in his innings, which included 13 fours and one six.

He has become the second leading run scorer this season after Faf du Plessis (730). He has come second on the Orange Cap list. With brilliant batting from him, RCB scored 197 runs in this match against Gujarat Titans. This was also the tenth century of this season. Earlier today, Cameron Green also scored an unbeaten 100 runs for the Mumbai Indians.
