Virat Kohli: Kohli also became the king of Instagram, the first Indian to have 200 million followers.

Virat Kohli hasn’t been able to do anything special on the cricket pitch for the past 2 years, but he is making a splash on social media. He has 200 million followers on Instagram. He is the first person in India to have so many followers. He is also the first cricketer in the world to reach this number of followers. Not only this, he is also the third most followed player in all of sports overall. Only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are ahead of him.

Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the most followed player. More than 45 million people follow him. After him comes the name of Argentine legend Lionel Messi. Messi has more than 33 million followers. Virat is in third position here with 200 million followers. Brazil’s star striker Neymar comes after Kohli with 175 million followers.

Virat Kohli has not been in rhythm for the last two years. Two and a half years ago marked a century. He last scored a century in November 2019. He scored this century against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Since then, the wait for the century of him is increasing. Being out of shape, he has lost the captaincy of all three formats of cricket. Last year before the T20 World Cup, he had announced to leave the captaincy of the T20 team. After this, he too was stripped of the ODI team captaincy. He too bid farewell to the Test captaincy after losing the Test series against South Africa earlier this year.
