What a week for Vikrant Massey! Fresh off his big win at the 71st National Film Awards for Best Actor, our man is already making headlines. He just snagged a major role with none other than Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. It seems the universe is truly on his side.
Vikrant is currently buzzing thanks to his National Award for the film ’12th Fail’. But now, he’s spilled some exciting news about his next move. He told Times Now that he’s joining a much-anticipated film by Dharma Productions. And guess what? He’s finally ditching the “common man” roles for a more glamorous look.
“You’ll see me in designer clothes soon!” Vikrant chuckled during the interview. He added that Karan Johar himself will make sure he looks sharp, complete with fancy sunglasses. The actor proudly confirmed his role in ‘Dostana 2’. “I think this news is already out,” he admitted. “I don’t know why I wasn’t talking about it. I am doing ‘Dostana 2’. This is my first Dharma Productions film. You’ll see me wearing nice designer clothes. Karan Johar will make sure I dress well and wear fancy sunglasses. We’ll be shooting somewhere in Europe.”
Lakshya Lalwani Joins Too
Vikrant also revealed that Lakshya Lalwani, known for ‘The Bads of Bollywood’, is part of ‘Dostana 2’. However, he played coy about the film’s leading lady. He made it clear that some surprises are best left for Karan Johar to announce. “Let the heroine be a surprise,” he said. “I think it’s better if Karan sir announces her. That’s a big announcement too.”
The Journey of ‘Dostana 2’
For those who remember, ‘Dostana 2’ first made headlines with a different cast. Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Lakshya Lalwani were originally set to star. But after some “creative differences,” Kartik Aaryan left the project, putting the film on hold. Now, Vikrant Massey steps in alongside Lakshya to lead the revived film. The female lead’s identity still remains a secret.
