Vikrant Massey Backs Deepika Padukone’s 8-Hour Bollywood Shift, Ready For Fee Cut

The film world is buzzing with talk about how long people work each day. For ages, stars and crews often put in long, grueling hours. But now, some big names are pushing for a change. One of them is Deepika Padukone. She sparked a big discussion when she asked to work only eight hours a day.

Deepika even walked away from the film ‘Spirit,’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, because of her request for shorter workdays. Many in the industry have spoken up to support her. Now, actor Vikrant Massey has joined that growing group.

Vikrant Massey Steps In

Vikrant Massey openly backed Deepika’s call for an eight-hour shift. He told Firstpost that he wants to make this change for himself soon, too. He desires to work just eight hours, but he sees it as a choice.

He understands filmmaking is complex. It involves many moving parts. He believes that if a producer cannot agree to an eight-hour workday, that should be okay.

Money Matters, Says Vikrant

Vikrant also talked about money. He said he would be ready to take less pay if he worked fewer hours. He believes this is a fair trade. If he can’t give a producer twelve hours a day, he shouldn’t expect the same twelve-hour pay. He called it a “transactional” understanding.

He also voiced his strong support for Deepika. He pointed out that she recently became a mother. Because of this, he feels she truly deserves to have more balanced work hours. It’s about finding that sweet spot between work and life.

What’s Next for Vikrant?

While he dreams of shorter workdays, Vikrant Massey is busy promoting his upcoming film, ‘Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan.’ He stars alongside Shanaya Kapoor, who is making her debut in this movie. Santosh Singh directed the film, which is set to hit theaters on July 11.
