Royal Challengers Bangalore made history by winning their first IPL title in 2025. They defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs in the final match. The team’s former owner, Vijay Mallya, congratulated the team on their win. He posted on social media, “Ee sala cup namde,” which is the team’s tagline.
Vijay Mallya said, “Royal Challengers Bangalore are finally IPL champions after 18 years. They had a great campaign in the 2025 tournament.” He praised the team’s coaching and support staff, saying they played a bold game. Mallya’s tweet read, “RCB are IPL Champions finally after 18 years. Superb campaign right through the 2025 tournament. A well-balanced team playing bold with outstanding coaching and support staff. Many congratulations!”
However, Vijay Mallya’s congratulatory tweet didn’t go down well with everyone. People started asking him to return the country’s money. This isn’t the first time Mallya has been trolled for his tweets about RCB. When the team reached the qualifiers, he congratulated them, and people asked him to pay back the money he owed.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore team was emotional after winning their first IPL title. Star player Virat Kohli was seen crying in the stadium. Kohli has been with the team since the beginning of the IPL and was overjoyed when they finally won the championship on June 3.
