Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan paid tribute to the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala by scoring a brilliant century against Madhya Pradesh on day two of the Ranji Trophy final today. The right-handed batsman completed his century in 190 balls before lunch on the second day. An emotional Sarfaraz upon reaching his century paid tribute to Musewala by pointing a finger skyward. Moosewala was known to perform this signature step in his song videos and also during live shows. His signature move to pay tribute to the late singer and rapper has been done by several prominent names. Musewala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on May 29, 2022.

Third player in Ranji history to score more than 900 runs

Sarfaraz Khan has played unbeaten innings of 275, 63, 48, 165, 153, 40, 59 before the final match. This year, Sarfaraz Khan has scored 937 runs in eight innings, which is the most runs scored by any batsman this year.
