In Garges-lès-Gonesse, hundreds of young people have responded to the call to collect waste in their neighborhood. This is the “My city will shine” initiative. The objective: to collect, sort, reuse what has been recovered. Brut followed them.

Hundreds of young people took part in the Clean challenge, organized by the association Espoir Et Création, in Garges-lès-Gonesse. Divided into several teams, the participants thus collected the maximum amount of waste in one hour, watch in hand. It’s the team that collected the most waste that wins the challenge. For Amina, a volunteer, this challenge is particularly important. “We are in sensitive neighborhoods, in cities and we want to show people, to everyone, to all the people who reproduce what we do, that it is not the young people who degrade“, emphasizes the volunteer.

Also, Marylène Martin, project manager for Hope and Creation, insists on the importance of including young people in these environmental issues. “It is these young people who are going to suffer them (…) it is our role to be able to sensitize them and involve them in these issues.“, she believes.
