A tragedy may have been averted in Honduras. At the end of an amateur soccer match, played this weekend in Copán, in the west of the country, the referee was filmed with a pistol in his right hand to protect himself, according to the Televicentro television channel.
At the final whistle, when several people invaded the field of play, the referee felt threatened by the fans of the losing team. He then drew a gun, as shown in a video posted on social media and broadcast on the Honduran channel, to disperse the crowd on the grass.
In the video, the referee was observed with a gun in hand, while the soccer players separated to avoid a tragedy in La Entrada, Copán. Here the details: https://t.co/dhUSdqxunL pic.twitter.com/Q2tuVxhlZA

“He pulled out a gun,” exclaims a man present on the outskirts of the field. And if several detonations are heard, nothing indicates that the referee has used his weapon. One thing is certain: the wounded should not be deplored.
