Vicky Kaushal Scores First Half Century of 2025 as Chhaava Roars in Theaters on Sunday

Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Chhaava’ has taken theaters by storm from day one, surpassing all expectations. The trailer, which told the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, had already impressed the public, and the advance booking was good, hinting at a strong opening. But no one anticipated the blast would be this big. From its great opening on the first day, ‘Chhaava’ shifted into a different gear on Sunday, catapulting Vicky to a whole new level.

A Strong Start

The film, released on Friday, started with an opening collection of Rs 33 crore, the biggest opening of Vicky’s career. Despite high expectations from Vicky’s film, the public’s response surpassed predictions, with ‘Chhaava’ receiving a very positive response from the audience. On Saturday, the craze reached new heights, with the film collecting Rs 39.30 crore, showing strong growth. In the first two days, ‘Chhaava’ collected 72.40 crores at the box office.

The Storm Takes Over

On Sunday, the craze of Vicky Kaushal’s film reached a different level. According to trade reports, the film’s earnings jumped between 25% and 30% on the third day. Online portals tracked ‘Chhaava’ earning around Rs 48-49 crore on the third day. However, considering the difference in figures between online tracking and the producer’s numbers, the actual Sunday collection could be beyond Rs 50 crores. This would be the highest earning of any film in a day in 2025, setting a record that will likely stand for several months.

With over Rs 122 crore collected in the first three days, ‘Chhaava’ becomes the second-most earning film of 2025, just behind Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’, which made about Rs 130 crore in its lifetime. Given the current pace, there’s a good chance ‘Chhaava’ will become the most earning film of 2025 with its four-day collection on Monday. It’s also likely that ‘Chhaava’ will become Vicky’s first 300 crore earning film in the lead role, considering its current earnings trajectory.
