Vicente Fernández Jr. and Mariana González Reveal Baby Girl, Debate Names

Get ready for some exciting news! Vicente Fernández Jr., at 60 years old, is about to become a father again. This means a new, joyful chapter is beginning for him and his wife, Mariana González.

The couple shared their big announcement on the morning show Hoy Día on Telemundo. Mariana, who is 40, is expecting a baby girl. They’re already having a lively discussion about what to name her. Will it be Vicenta, honoring the legendary grandfather Vicente Fernández, or will they go with Isabela?

Getting pregnant wasn’t easy for the couple. Mariana opened up about the difficult process. She shared that the hormone treatments made her feel very emotional and angry at times. Trying again and again, wondering if it would work, was tough. She had help from her doctor and a psychologist to stay well through it all.

Despite the challenges, the treatment worked. Mariana called the successful conception a true "blessing." They had decided this would be their only try. "It was our last, our only baby," she said with emotion. "Then suddenly, they implanted it, and it stuck." She added that it was a 50/50 chance, so she felt if God wanted it, it was meant to be.

Vicente Jr. already has four children and six grandchildren. He couldn’t hide his happiness. He called it a "very beautiful dream." He believes a baby in a home, within a marriage, truly completes a relationship. He also shared a thought he once read: "When a child is born, it means God still believes humanity is worthwhile."

The couple even had an astrologer, Mario Vanucci, read their astral charts. He predicted they would have a girl! Later, they confirmed the news with a fun cake reveal. When they cut into the cake, pink color popped out. "It’s a girl!" everyone shouted in the morning show’s studio.

Now comes the big name debate. Mariana shared she really likes Isabela. Vicente, however, wants to name her Vicenta as a direct tribute to his father. Mariana laughed, saying "Vicenta is nice, but not… I mean, like Vicente." She hinted the name felt a bit too strong. Still, she offered a clever idea: "I told him, let’s put both, and she can choose which one."

The name they pick will hold special meaning. Isabela suggests a fresh start, while Vicenta would honor the legacy of "El Charro de Huentitán" for a new generation. One of the Hoy Día hosts, Pancho, even joked about mixing names. He said his wife combined names, and that creates "a mixture."

This new family addition comes as Vicente Fernández Jr. also continues to champion his father’s musical heritage. During the same interview, he shared that the first posthumous album by Vicente Fernández with banda music came out on November 28, 2024. He also announced a second album featuring collaborations is coming soon. Vicente Jr. proudly explained that he had the chance to produce some of his father’s songs.

Fans of the Fernández family dynasty are thrilled by the news. They see this baby as a continuation of a beloved family tradition, both in art and in life. Whether she’s named Vicenta or Isabela, Vicente Jr. and Mariana’s daughter will arrive into a home filled with love, history, and the sound of ranchera music.
