Vice President and Promipyme deliver more than RD$142 million in loans to SDO microentrepreneurs

The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Pena, and the General Director of the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises (Promipyme), Porfirio Peralta, delivered this Wednesday more than 142 million pesos in loans to micro-entrepreneurs in the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste.

Some 1,020 micro and small business owners from Manoguayabo, Los Alcarrizos, Pantoja and Pedro Brand will benefit from this action, of which 693 benefited are from the Commerce sector, 86 belong to the industry, while 241 to the service sector.

During the fair, the deputy president recalled a past visit made by the President Luis Abinader, in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, where he promised to hold a loan fair, while pointing out that this promise was a reality today, according to the letter.

Together, he pointed out that as support for Mipymes, the Government has established as a goal for 2024, the placement of 55 billion pesos, of whichmore than RD$13 billion have already been delivered through Promipyme.

“We welcome the rise of Mipymes, which generate more than 642 thousand formal jobs, reaching 2.2 million jobs; More than 120,000 micro and small companies have benefited from this action, generating 76,000 direct jobs and 476,000 indirect jobs,” added Peña.

On the other hand, Peralta stressed that the financing granted to entrepreneurs is part of the measures ordered by the head of state. “We found ourselves here, benefiting thousands of women and men that, with their efforts, also contribute to the creation of jobs, the generation of wealth and the strengthening of Mipymes”.
