Veteran Indian actor Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74. He died on October 25, with his manager confirming the tragic details surrounding his death.
Shah had been battling a kidney illness. He was transported to Hinduja Hospital for treatment, where he ultimately passed away.
Ramesh Kadtala, Shah’s manager, shared more about the actor’s final moments with news agency ANI. Shah became unconscious while having lunch around 2:45 PM.
Kadtala recounted that Shah took a mouthful of food and then collapsed. It took approximately 30 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. Doctors declared him dead upon reaching the hospital.
Neighbor Anoop was also present and tried to assist. He described Shah as a kind and humble individual, noting that everyone he called rushed to help.
Shah had undergone a kidney transplant in Kolkata on June 16. His manager stated that his health had been normal since then, apart from a minor urinary infection treated with antibiotics.
The funeral for Satish Shah was scheduled to take place at 12 PM at Pawan Hans in Vile Parle (West), Mumbai. Actor Jackie Shroff was among those who paid their final respects.
Shah’s prolific career spanned over four decades. He was widely recognized for his comedic roles in numerous films and television shows.
His notable film credits include ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ (1983), ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, and ‘Shaadi No. 1’.
He also achieved iconic status for his portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in the popular television series ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’.
