Vesely: “I still hadn’t sweated and Nikola Mirotic had 15 points”

The center of the Barça Jan Vesely assured that the Catalan team will have to raise the physical bar and “take better care of the rebound” if he intends to win the second game of the Endesa League quarterfinals against Valencia Basket this Friday. “Last Monday we played a solid game, but we have to be more physical and take better care of the rebound. We have to do the same, but with more aggressiveness”, the Czech player assessed this Thursday in statements to the Catalan club media.

Vesely acknowledged that “it is not easy” to play at Fonteta, but he was confident that Barça is “prepared” to “fight” and with all five senses focused on domestic competition after the setback that led to elimination in the Euroleague semifinals. “It wasn’t an easy week after that (the Final Four), but I think now we’veWe have returned mentally and we are focused on the Endesa League“, he claimed. Lastly, the center praised the performance of Nikola Mirotic, who scored 27 points in the series opener: “He still hadn’t sweated and he already had 15 points, but it was also thanks to the team’s work that he generated good free shots. This is the type of player he is (Mirotic). I’m happy for him.”
