Very right line, pro-Brexit and anti-wokist: who is Suella Braverman, the new British interior minister?

With her strong opinions, Suella Braverman, the new British Interior Minister, does not leave anyone indifferent, even in her own camp. Born 42 years ago near Wembley, in North West London, her parents arrived from Kenya and Mauritius. She loves her country, the United Kingdom, which has given her everything, she says.

She also wanted to become Prime Minister. During the primary, she presented herself with a very right-wing program: immigration is one of her favorite campaign themes. When the European Court of Human Rights prevents the sending of migrants to Rwanda, it gets angry. “We cannot solve the problem of illegal immigration because of human rights claims and because of a foreign court in Strasbourg, politicized and interventionist, which interferes in our internal politics. I fear that the only solution is to leave the European Court of Human Rights.”

An “authentic pro-Brexit”

She, who presents herself as an “authentic pro-Brexit”, has campaigned ardently for the exit from Europe. She wants a sovereign UK that will not answer to anyone. She abhors wokism and horrifies her with certain debates of the time. For her, schools should not be forced to accommodate transgender students.

She claimed for weeks that she was the only one capable of fixing the migrant problem who cross the English Channel illegally. Now Minister of the Interior, she can apply her method.
