Vedaant Madhavan: “I don’t want to be known only as the son of R Madhavan”

Madhavan Vedante: "He did not want to be known only as the son of R Madhavan"

Unlike other starkids, the son of Bollywood actor R Madhavan is absolutely not interested in show business. His passion is swimming. Vedaant is 16 years old and is a national and international swimming champion. He recently won seven medals at the 2022 Danish Open in Copenhagen. In a recent interview, he talks more about how he wants to make a name for himself.

“I don’t want to live in my father’s shadow. The goal is to make a name for myself. I don’t want to be known only as the son of R Madhavan.”

Vedaant says the following about the sacrifices of his parents. “They always take care of me. They have both put a lot of time and effort into making sure I can achieve my dreams. One of the biggest and biggest sacrifices my parents have made is moving to Dubai.”

Last year, R Madhavan and his family moved to Dubai to support his son Vedaant in his preparations for the Olympics. It was a big step for the family, but R Madhavan put his son’s best interests first. Last year he said: “The biggest swimming pools in Mumbai are closed due to Covid or transfer. We are with Vedaant in Dubai where he has access to great pools. He is working for the Olympics and Sarita and I are by his side”.

He also spoke about his son’s ambitions. “Let your son fly free. He doesn’t stop you from pursuing a career. I don’t care that Vedaant decided not to act. His chosen vocation is much more important to me than my own career. I will do whatever it takes to get him where he wants to go in life.”
