Vasco Seabra: Arouca Must Find Balance, Avoid Four Goals Each Match

The dust barely settled on a thrilling 3-3 draw between Arouca and Rio Ave. After such a rollercoaster, Arouca’s coach, Vasco Seabra, spoke to reporters. He made it clear his team needs to find a better balance on the field. Still, he couldn’t hide his pride in how his players fought.

The match itself felt like a wild ride. Seabra called it a good game with two strong teams. For the first 30 minutes, Arouca seemed to be in control, dictating the play. But then things shifted. Towards the end of the first half, their timing for pressing opponents got a bit messy. They tried to fix it during the break. Unfortunately, they gave up a goal early in the second half. This put them in a tough spot, trailing 1-2.

Yet, Arouca didn’t quit. Seabra felt his team regained some control after falling behind. He spoke with real passion about his players’ attitude and their love for the game. He pointed out that Arouca is a very skilled team, strong on the ball. But they also show great aggression when battling for possession. They scored three goals in this game, just like they did against AVS previously. That’s a strong attacking record.

Still, the coach knows where the real challenge lies. “We have to find the right balance,” Seabra stressed. “We don’t want to score four goals and let in four goals every single game.” It’s a clear message: attacking firepower is great, but a solid defense is just as important.

Seabra also touched on individual performances. He noted that striker Barbero played exactly as expected. The team didn’t get into the opponent’s half enough to fully use Barbero’s sharp finishing skills, but that will come with time. As for the squad, Seabra feels the main group is set. There might be one or two new faces, but he has a lot of faith in the players he has now.
