Vargas scores in Switzerland’s qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

The Dominican Rubén Vargas scored a great goal in Switzerland’s win against Bulgaria (4-0), which gave him the classification, in a surprise day that sent the great favorite of the Italy group to the playoffs of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Vargas received a cross pass inside the area from Mario Gavranovic in the 57th minute that extended a precarious lead to 2-0, showing the Swiss-born Dominican father an exultant talent from his changed leg.

The Swiss, who depended in sum on the result of the transalpinos against Northern Ireland, sentenced the match in the 72nd minute and in the aggregate (90).

The Azurra could not get the result (0-0), in addition to the fact that the Swiss victory imposed a miracle more than a triumph, since both teams came tied almost in everything, and only one visitor goal from the European red cross, was the difference even with a 2-0 of these.

Vargas, who has started the last two Playoff games, has scored his second overall with the Senior, in seven games in which he has seen action so far, including 4 as a starter. The previous goal was in a friendly against Sweden this year.

Italy will now have to face a difficult process, in a play-off that could put difficult rivals, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Sweden could be among the trio to face.

In other defining results, England crushed modest San Marino (10-0) to secure their passage to Qatar.

It still remains to define the winner in group 7, with a fierce fight between the Netherlands (20 points), escorted by Turkey and Norway, who have 18 points. That luck is played this Tuesday with seven games remaining on the calendar, and that would define the remaining playoffs.
