The great battle between Mathieu Van der Poel and Tadej Pogacar in the Tour of Flandersin which the Slovenian took victory as revenge for what happened last year, has shown the respect that both cyclists have for each other both inside and outside the races.
As soon as you cross the finish line in Oudenaarde, Van der Poel did not hesitate to go to congratulate Pogacar on his victory and melt into a hug that shows the respect of both cyclists, two of the great figures.
A respect that also translates into a good relationship, as was confirmed on social networks, where Van der Poel uploaded an image of himself during the Tour of Flanders along with the comment “There is nothing compared to the Tour of Flanders”, to which Pogacar responded with a sincere “Respect” (Respect). A message to which Van der Poel did not hesitate to respond with irony: “Stay with the grand tours, please”, accompanied by a laughing emoji.
A good relationship that own Van der Poel confirmed on the Sporza set after the test dispute. “We get along very well from the first time we meet and we have a lot of contact. He is a very nice boy who walks very fast on the bike. I think he can stay only with the grand tours. But if there is someone who can win all five monuments, that is Pogacar”.
