VALORANT Team 2Game Esports Hires College Player to Replace Underage Roster Member for EWC Qualifier

The esports organization 2Game Esports (2G) has made a last-minute roster change ahead of its upcoming VALORANT qualifier for the Esports World Cup (EWC). The team is set to compete on Friday against other top teams in the region.

Age Restriction Forces Roster Change

2G’s Rodrigo “spike” Lombardi won’t be able to participate in the qualifier due to the competition’s minimum age requirement. To fill the spot, the team has brought in João Pedro “jayp” Muller from Cumberland University Esports in the US.

The EWC follows the same rules as the VCT Americas, which means players must meet certain age criteria. If 2G qualifies for the main event, Spike will be eligible to join the team since he’ll have turned 18 by then.

Here’s the key info:

  • 2G’s next match: Friday’s EWC qualifier
  • Replacement player: João Pedro “jayp” Muller
  • Reason for change: Age restriction for VALORANT in EWC
  • Spike’s status: Will join if 2G qualifies for the main event

The team made the announcement on their X/Twitter account, sharing a statement about the roster change.
