Esports teams are always looking for fresh ways to grab attention. The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT EMEA) kicks off its next stage this Wednesday, August 16th. One team, GIANTX, has launched a creative video on X (formerly Twitter) to showcase their roster. This video gives a big nod to a popular anime series from 2024.
The short clip takes its inspiration directly from the opening sequence of the first season of “Dan Da Dan.” It features the GIANTX players who will be competing in the upcoming matches. The video also teases some of the tough opponents they will face this season, including FNATIC, Vitality, and Karmine Corp. It’s a smart way to blend gaming hype with a bit of pop culture cool.
VAL VA VAL! No aliens or evil spirits here.
The only truly paranormal event will be our crazy comeback for stage 2.#WeAreGIANTX | #VCTEMEA pic.twitter.com/4QyXsx8FXc

For those unfamiliar, “Dan Da Dan” is an anime known for its mix of supernatural action and comedy. The story follows two students who get tangled up with strange forces after betting on whether ghosts and aliens exist. The series is based on a popular manga, has two seasons out, and has even won international awards. You can watch it on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
GIANTX faced a tough run in the first stage of the VCT EMEA, finishing 9th out of 10 teams. Now, they are aiming for a much stronger performance in this new stage, which runs until August 31st. Their first match will be against Vitality, a team that features Brazilian player Felipe “less” Basso. That match kicks off at 3 PM Brasília time. It will be interesting to see if their new marketing push brings a fresh start to their season.
