VALORANT Ascension: ‘Brazilian Nemesis’ ENVY Defeats Team Solid

Brazilian esports team Team Solid has fallen into the lower bracket of the VCT Ascension Americas playoffs after a defeat by ENVY, a rival that has proven to be a formidable obstacle for South American contenders.

The Brazilian squad lost 2-1 to ENVY in their opening playoff match on Thursday. Team Solid secured an early lead by winning Lotus 13-6. However, ENVY rallied to take Ascent 13-7 and decisively closed out the series with a 13-3 victory on Bind.

This defeat continues a challenging trend for Brazilian teams against ENVY. The same rival previously eliminated Stellae Gaming from the competition. ENVY achieved a dominant 13-0 win on Bind in their deciding match against Stellae Gaming before the playoffs even began.

The VCT Ascension Americas tournament is a crucial event. It offers a single Tier 2 team promotion to the VCT Americas league. The stakes are high for all participants seeking a spot in the top-tier VALORANT circuit.

Following their loss, Team Solid expressed determination to continue in the lower bracket. They are scheduled to face Winthrop University in an upcoming elimination match.

The first day of playoffs also saw TSM defeat Winthrop University 2-0. This result sent Winthrop University to the lower bracket.

Playoffs are set to resume on Friday, October 24. Team Solid will play Winthrop University at 5:00 PM UTC-3. This will be followed by TSM facing ENVY in the upper bracket.
