Riot Games has just rolled out some key updates for VALORANT, arriving with patch 11.05 this Tuesday, the 2nd. This particular update is a calm before the storm, timed strategically before the big Champions tournament. Riot made sure to keep changes minimal, giving professional players a chance to fine-tune their strategies without major disruptions right before the competition heats up.
Gamers who love competitive events have something special to look forward to. The Champions Paris Pick’em system is making a big return on September 4th. Come Thursday, the 4th, players can jump into the Group Stage predictions directly through the game client or on the web. The goal is simple: guess which teams will advance. If you get their exact placement right, you’ll even earn extra points. The best part is, everyone who joins in gets some cool rewards just for participating.
Riot is also rolling out a fresh feature called “Faction.” This system lets players pick a content creator and join their specific group. Think of it as a community hub, where you connect with others who follow your favorite streamer or personality. But choose wisely, because you can only join one Faction. Each community comes with its own unique in-game reward, adding a fun incentive. As you play through the Group Stage and Playoffs, the points you earn will contribute to your chosen Faction leader’s score.

Beyond the excitement of new events, Riot is also tightening up its in-game behavior system. Update 11.05 brings adjustments designed to better handle situations like “remake” abuse and other mechanic misuses. From now on, players who frequently go idle or ditch their queues will face penalties. Riot wants to make it clear, however, that they won’t unfairly punish players who are simply trying to enjoy the game. It’s all about keeping the playing field fair and fun for everyone.
