VALORANT 11.04 Update: Sage, Chamber Buffs, Deadly Bubblegum Skins, Map Changes

Online games are always changing, and VALORANT is a perfect example. Riot Games just rolled out update 11.04. This patch brings many tweaks, showing how developers keep refining the player experience. Think of it like tuning a sports car; small adjustments can make a big difference in how it performs.

Character Changes Take Center Stage

The biggest news in this update involves a few familiar faces. Chamber, for instance, had a little surprise. The range limit on his “Trademark” trap, which was accidentally removed in update 11.02, is now officially gone. It seems players enjoyed the extra freedom, so Riot decided to keep it that way. This change lets Chamber set up more creative and far-reaching defenses.

Sage also got some love, making her healing and defensive skills more flexible. Her “Barrier Orb” wall and “Resurrection” ability can now be used from further away. The wall’s casting range jumped from 10 meters to 15 meters, giving Sage more room to cut off enemy paths or protect teammates. Her revive range also doubled, going from 6 meters to a generous 12 meters. This means Sage can bring fallen allies back into the fight from a safer distance, which is a major boost for team plays.

Sova’s “Hunter’s Fury” ultimate also got a small but welcome visual clean-up. Its effects now play out faster and take up less screen space. This helps players see the action better, reducing visual clutter during intense moments. Plus, Phoenix received some new voice lines and fresh interactions with Vyse, adding more personality to the fiery agent. It’s a small detail, but these character touches make the game world feel more alive.

New Looks and Map Rotations

Players who love to customize their gear will be happy to hear about the new “Deadly Gum” collection. This eye-catching set arrives in the VALORANT store on August 21st at 6:00 PM BRT. The collection includes four unique kill banners, which change depending on the weapon variant you’re using. And for a close-combat surprise, it features a chainsaw as a knife.

The game’s map pool also saw a shuffle. “ABYSS” is back in the competitive and deathmatch queues, giving players a chance to master its unique layouts again. Meanwhile, “ICEBOX” has stepped out of those queues for now. Map rotations keep the game fresh and ensure players are always adapting to new environments and strategies.

Small Changes, Big Impact

Beyond the major adjustments, update 11.04 includes several quality-of-life improvements that make the game smoother. One cool new feature lets you send gifts to your friends directly from the esports store. This is a nice way to share some digital goodies with your teammates.

Other tweaks aim to improve clarity and reduce distractions. The sound of pings on the minimap has been softened, so they don’t overpower other game sounds. The colors for Ultimate ability areas on the minimap are now clearer. Allied ultimate zones show up in turquoise, while enemy zones appear in yellow, making it easier to tell friend from foe at a glance. Lastly, ability icons will only show up on the minimap if the Ultimate can be destroyed. This means less clutter and more important information for players trying to keep track of the battlefield.
