Jessica Carrizosa, a 28-year-old footballer for Paterna Sports Union, has died after being involved in a fatal accident in the north of Valencia. The incident occurred when she was crossing a pedestrian crossing, and a VTC car, which may have been traveling at excessive speed, struck her. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and alerted emergency services.
The news of Carrizosa’s death was announced by her club, which expressed its condolences and regret on social media. “We deeply regret the death of our player Jessica Carrizosa. Her passion and effort will always be remembered. Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. Her legacy will always live in our hearts,” the club stated.
According to reports, Carrizosa was walking with a group of friends near the Benimaclet cemetery when the accident occurred. They had crossed the road at a point where pedestrians are allowed to cross, but Carrizosa was the only one hit by the car. The driver of the car submitted to breathalyzer and drug tests, both of which yielded negative results.
The incident was reported to the authorities around 04:00 in the morning. Despite the efforts of the SAMU medical team to resuscitate her, Carrizosa could not be saved, as confirmed by the Emergency Information and Coordination Center. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, with authorities examining whether the VTC car was speeding at the time of the incident.
