Valencia Basket signs an old dream of the club. Alba Torrens (192 cm., 32 years old) will dress as a taronja next season. The star of the Spanish National Team and six-time winner of the Euroleague will reinforce the LF Endesa runner-up and current champion of the European Super Cup, a title that he won precisely against Russian Yekaterinburg, where Alba Torrens played.
Torrens is the first signing of a taronja squad that will be revamped this summer. The track record of the new taronja player is enviable and includes 6 Euroleagues and 3 European Super Cups, 1 League and 1 Super Cup in Spain, 1 League, 3 Cups and a Super Cup in Turkey and 7 Leagues and 2 Cups in Russia. With the Spain shirt, he holds 8 medals: two gold (Eurobasket 2013 and 2017), two silver (World Cup 2014 and Olympic Games 2016) and four bronze (Eurobasket 2009 and 2015 and World Cup 2010 and 2018). At the individual level, he has been the Euroleague MVP twice (2011 and 2014), once Eurobasket MVP (2017), twice Best Player in Europe (2011 and 2014) and has been part of the Ideal Quintet three times in a European (2013, 2014 and 2017) and once in a World Cup (2014).
With the arrival of Torrens, Valencia now has four players on its squad with a contract: Raquel Carrera, Leticia Romero, Ángela Salvadores and Alba Torrens herself. Precisely one of the mainstays of the team in recent seasons, the also international Laura Gil, leaves the team and has already said goodbye to her teammates.
