Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Heated Bat Debate with Ayush Mhatre

The name Vaibhav Suryavanshi is sure to come up whenever the 2025 IPL season is mentioned. This young player made history with his debut, becoming the youngest player to participate in the tournament. At just 14 years old, Vaibhav is part of the Rajasthan Royals team and is already making waves with his aggressive batting style. He now holds the record for the second-fastest century in IPL history.

Vaibhav scored his century in just 35 balls, making it the fastest century by an Indian player in IPL history. His bat continued to shine throughout the season. He was picked up by Rajasthan for 1.1 crore rupees. Vaibhav played in 7 matches this season, although he didn’t feature in the initial games.

Rajasthan Royals played their final match of the season against the Chennai Super Kings, which was the 62nd match of the tournament. Rajasthan won the match, with Vaibhav playing a crucial role. He scored 55 runs in 33 balls. This 14-year-old player ended up being the top run-scorer for his team this season.

After the match, Vaibhav met up with his friend Ayush Mhatre, who plays for CSK. The two have played together on the under-19 team. Their meeting turned into a fun debate about bats. When asked if he would ask Ayush for his bat, Vaibhav laughed, saying, “He’s my brother, he won’t give it to me. He’s asking me for my bat, can you believe it? Has anyone ever taken a bat from me?”

Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a total of 7 matches in IPL 2025, scoring 252 runs with a strike rate of 206.56. This includes 1 century and 1 half-century. Ayush Mhatre, who also made his debut this year, played 6 matches for CSK, scoring 206 runs with a strike rate of 187.27. His best score was 94 runs.
