A 14-year-old cricketer has taken the cricket world by storm after smashing a century in just 35 balls in the IPL 2025. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who plays for Rajasthan Royals, has become an overnight sensation, with fans and netizens curious to know more about him.

Vaibhav was picked up by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping ₹1.1 crore in the auction, and he made his IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants. He hit a six on the first ball he faced, proving that the Royals’ faith in him was not misplaced. In his third match, he achieved a feat that legends like Dhoni, Rohit, and Kohli couldn’t accomplish in 18 years of IPL history – becoming the fastest Indian batsman to score a century in the IPL.

Vaibhav represents Bihar in domestic cricket and made his first-class debut in January 2024. He is also the youngest player to debut in List A cricket.

Vaibhav was born on March 27, 2011, in Motipur village, Samastipur district, Bihar. His father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, is a cricket enthusiast who used to take him to cricket academies from their village to Patna. Vaibhav’s mother has also played a crucial role in his cricketing journey.

In four T20 matches, he has scored 164 runs. In the IPL, Vaibhav has played three matches and scored 151 runs. On April 28, he smashed 101 runs off 38 balls against Gujarat Titans, becoming the youngest player to score a century and a half-century in T20 cricket.
